MNFST S-02/ Air Freight
Air freight for time-critical cargo
When transit time matters more than cost, air freight is the answer. Logistika books air cargo space for exports from Pakistan and for imports arriving by air, advises on the right service level, prepares the air waybill details and coordinates pickup, clearance and delivery.
Air cargo is priced on chargeable weight, so accurate weights and dimensions at the quote stage make the difference between a reliable estimate and a surprise invoice.

For an air freight quote, send us
- Origin and destination airports, or full addresses for door service
- Commodity description and value
- Number of pieces, with actual weight and dimensions (L × W × H) of each
- The date the cargo must arrive
- Whether anything is hazardous — if so, the Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
- Incoterms agreed with your buyer or supplier
Key terms
- Chargeable weight
- The greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight. For air cargo, volumetric weight is commonly calculated as L × W × H in centimetres ÷ 6,000.
- AWB
- Air waybill — the contract of carriage for air cargo. A MAWB is issued by the airline; a HAWB by the forwarder for each shipment in a consolidation.
- Consolidation
- Several shipments combined under one master air waybill to secure better rates.
- IATA DGR
- The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations that govern hazardous materials carried by air.
MNFST S-02.4/ Questions
Air Freight: common questions
How is air freight charged?
By chargeable weight: whichever is greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight (commonly L × W × H in cm ÷ 6,000). Light but bulky cargo is therefore charged on its size, which is why accurate dimensions matter.
When should I choose air over sea?
When the cost of waiting is higher than the cost of flying — urgent spare parts, launches, perishable or high-value goods, or stock-outs. For heavy, low-value cargo with flexible timing, ocean freight is almost always more economical.
Can batteries or other dangerous goods go by air?
Many can, provided they are correctly classified, packed, marked and documented under the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations; some items are forbidden on passenger aircraft or on all aircraft. Send us the Safety Data Sheet and we will confirm what is possible.
